I followed Angela to the girls' bathroom. I walked inside as she left. No one's here. Not bad - bright, quite clean and tidy, I thought.
I set myself in a warm tub of water, meditating. The scratches of Kampe on my right arm hurt. I wondered if there's anything in this magical camp that would cure that at an instant. I was still confused about the whole gods-and-goddesses-bear-kids-with-mortals-and-my-mum-is-Lady-Aphrodite thing. I guessed James, who was on the run with me and turned out to be a son of Apollo, was as puzzled as I was.
I rinsed off and changed into the white halter tank top and denim shorts that Angela gave to me. Then I blew dry my wavy blond hair. Looking at my face in the mirror, I decided not to iron-curl my hair since it looked natural and beautiful waving at my back. I applied some mascara and lip gloss. Admiring myself in front of the mirror - gorgeous, I thought. Well, you have to be beautiful to become popular. Anyway, I then washed my hands and left.
