Oracles and the Auguries

Camp HalfBlood:

Their will be officially Oracles of Delphi. The group will be of seven demigods who have the gift of prophecy. The first seven, who are prove worth being an Oracle, will be oracles of Camp HalfBlood, where you will have the job to approve characters. Boys are allowed to join the group.

Camp Jupiter:

Their will be officially a group of auguries, which must have the ability of prophecy, gifted by Apollo. The auguries will be in charge of approving roman demigods and assigning cohorts, depending of the demigod's character creation forum. The auguries can be either, legacies or demigods.

this idea is great!

But I think it would be better if campers who are proven worthy to join the oracles/auguries gp, they can join

also to choose the oracle, would it better if we have an election like the praetors, camp coun., cabin coun., and centurions ones?

And every year, we'll choose 7 oracles n 7 augures

i think there's one important criteria for electing the oracles/auguries -
they should be familiar with creating characters!

I want to make sure that everything is covered

Oracles (CHB): 7
Auguries ( CJ): 7
Both boys and girls can apply for it.
It's not necessary for the character to have future-foreseeing power.

But I also have some questions:

Firstly, are the camp counselors, praetors, cabin counselors and centurions allowed to approve characters after that?
(I suppose at least camp counselors and praetors are still allowed to approve characters)

What do people have to do if they want to be oracles/auguries?
Maybe they can just pm the camp counselors/ praetors or should we hold an election for campers to vote(but if then it will be time-consuming and very troublesome)

Apart from being familiar with approving characters, what qualities should the oracles/auguries have?

Can a member apply for more than one time if he/she has more than 1 characters?

Are we going to select 7 oracles and 7 auguries EVERY YEAR?
(I think this will be better as it allows the new campers to involve)

Cabin couselors, centurion, praetors, ect. Can approve characters, but for the romans, the auguries will choose if he should enter the camp... Centurions and Praetors can corrrect the characters, ect. but the augur will approve it.

There should be an election for oracles and auguries. They need to be high will person...for example. There should be a reason for an augur to not accept a roman.

An oracle or augur cant apply another character for augur or oracle.

I know augurs and oracles are supposed to have the ability of prophecy,
but there aren't many campers who have it(in fact, there's only one for now)
If only those who have the power can be augurs and oracles,
many characters with future-foreseeing ability will be created, which is kinda boring
So, I think it maybe better if we don't add that as criteria.

I know... thats why we can put in the 'Rule' topic(wich everyone have to read it before creating the character) the criteria. Remember, people will not just join a group of oracles and Auguries.... they have to be "inlove' with the theme, and that should be a criteria to join it. If they are inform before creating the character about the oracles and auguries, they will have a chance to put that his/her characters have the gift of prophecy.

When the site get more members, trust me, the group will be full.... and not everybody is interest about the gift of prophecy,so people will not start like "I have the gift of prophecy, I want to join the group". Besides, the group is for seven people only. I just, dont want for inrresponsible people joining the group and the other day abandoning the site.(it happens a lot in RP sites).

Um...but wouldn't it be boring if there are more than 14 characters with the same ability?

Soon in this site, when the children of Trivia come, they will have magic. And it sucks because I want to be different than they are. Thats why i put my unique abilities, but its their choice to make. There is like, a thousand more demigods that have another abilities than prophecy. Dont worry, it'll be fine. Thats why we have centurions, cabin counselors, praetors, ect., to put order.

By the way, imagine yourself correcting a character, for it to be fill with details. If details are missing, centurions, Praetors, ect. will correct the character form. But the auguries will approve it and choose wich cohort they will be. Cause everybody wants to be in the best cohorts. So the Fourth and the fifth will be alone?

Oracles just approve and create ideas...

The auguries and the oracle are a different concept. So its been hard for me to organize the ideas. Apperantly, augurs have more work to do.

I suppose camp counselors and praetors can also approve charrie - afterall, in camp jupiter, it's Reyna's decision whether Percy can join the legionnaires or not...

Percy had to visit the augur, Octavian... But ok, the cabin counselor, praetor, ect., can approve characters....but the augur will choose which cohort should the demigod should be.

- Every year, 7 oracles and 7 augurs are chosen for Camp Half Blood and Camp Jupiter respectively.
- Before applying, you have to have at least one approved character.

- Camp Half Blood campers can only apply for oracles while Camp Jupiter campers can only apply for Augur.

- Characters don't have do be a girl to apply for oracles (it's different from the book)

- It's not necessary to have the future-foreseeing ability to apply for augurs or oracles

- Every member is only allowed to apply once every year no matter how many characters you have.

- Oracles and augurs are elected by the votes of members based on their performances(character creating in particular) and application forms. The one with most votes get the post.

- Responsibilities:
Oracles: Approving Greek characters
Augurs: Approving Roman characters and assigning the new characters a cohort.

- Criteria for election:
+Responsible
+Active
+Familiar with creating characters
+Fair and just

- Follow the steps bellow if you want to apply for oracles or augurs:
1. Make sure that you have at least one approved character.
2. Fill in the "Application Form for Oracles and Augurs" and put it in "Application for Oracles and Augurs Pending"
4. Wait for admins and Camp Counselor/Praetor' approval.
5. After your application is approved, you can hold a promotion campaign in the "Candidates of Oracles/ Augurs" that belongs to you. (***No cheating is allowed!!!)
6. Election will be held in mid- November (this year only).
7. The ones with most votes will become our new Oracles and Augurs!

Anna and I think that when enough oracles and augurs are elected (at least 4 for each),

the responsibilities of cabin counselors and centurions should be changed to
organizing activities in case of confusion,
which means only camp counselors, praetors, oracles and augurs will be in charge of approving charries.

By the way, in the temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus, you can put a 'Auguries' topic, were they will put approve romans characters....

but we've already have the approved characters category...
how about I put a auguries topic there where the list of roman campers can be found?

Its better if we leave it the same... I just got that idea because in that temple the augurs sacrifice the animals(teddy bears)...
